Characteristics
This is an alphabet stamp from 【OKA Factory Original】!
We have been manufacturing leather craft stamps for many years.
To continue manufacturing for so many years, we had to understand whether the shape, quality, length, and price were appropriate for leather crafting.
We created these alphabet stamps from the perspective of a factory specializing in leather crafting tools.
Among the alphabet stamps available on the market, we aimed to create the ones that are the easiest to use and produce the cleanest, most beautiful lettering.
[About Individual and Set Purchases]
We also sell individual alphabet letters.
Since you can purchase them separately, they are convenient for buying just a single letter, such as an initial.
While individual letters are priced higher, sets are offered at a discounted rate.

[Design Allowing You to See the Characters While Stamping]
We have set the character height to 1.2mm to ensure that only the characters are stamped cleanly.
The surface has been machined to match the shape of the characters, allowing you to visually confirm their position while stamping.
When hand-stamping, whether the design allows you to see the characters while stamping is the most critical factor.
Our stamps are crafted so that the character height (1.2mm) is visible from the front and both sides before striking.
As a result, the characters can be stamped cleanly without bending.
[About Logos That Indicate Text Orientation]
When stamping alphabet characters, it is essential to verify that the text is oriented correctly before striking the stamp.
This is because once stamped in the wrong orientation, it is impossible to correct.
Even a single character stamped in the wrong direction can ruin an entire piece, no matter how carefully it was crafted.
Checking the orientation of each character is a laborious task, especially when there are many characters.
Recognizing this wasted effort, we designed the stamp so that the orientation is immediately apparent.
The OKA Factory logo is stamped on one of the four sides of the stamp.
This indicates the orientation of the text.
This design ensures that if you position the stamp so the logo faces you, the text will naturally be oriented correctly.
[About the Plating Finish]
We’ve used three different plating colors to make the characters easy to distinguish at a glance.
Antique brass plating → Capital letters
Antique silver plating → Small letters
Antique copper plating → Numbers/Symbols
[About the Hairline Finish]
We paid particular attention to aesthetics.
We created a finish that combines a sense of luxury with an antique feel.
As shown in the images, each piece is hand-finished with vertical hairline etching.
The process involves:
① Applying brass, silver, and copper plating.
② Applying black nickel plating over that. At this stage, all stamp turn completely black.
③ We apply the hairline finish by hand to create a texture that combines a sense of luxury with an antique feel. (See image)
④ We apply a clear coat.
⑤ We cure the clear coat with a heat gun to create a stronger protective layer.
⑥ Completion.
Although this is a very labor-intensive process, we insisted on this method because we aimed to create an alphabet stamps that balances both quality and aesthetics.
[About the 89mm Overall Length]
Most alphabet stamps from other manufacturers have a shorter overall length. (See image.)
A shorter length makes it easy to hit your hand while stamping, which significantly impairs usability and can cause your hand to lose its steady grip.
We have increased the overall length to 89mm to improve usability.
[About the Center Groove]
There is a groove in the center.
Actually, this groove is necessary for the plating process.
An electrode is inserted into this groove, and an electric current is passed through it to bond the plating to the surface.
This groove also has other uses.
① When stamping, placing your thumb in the groove prevents slipping! (See image)
Since it’s not slippery, your hand is less likely to slip, allowing for precise stamping.
② You can hook a rubber band onto the groove to stamp characters in a row! (See image)
The step in the groove acts as a hook, making this very convenient.
[About the Striking Surface of the Stamp]
We machine the striking surface (the heel) of each stamp individually on a lathe. (See image.)
This is done to ensure that the force of the strike is transmitted directly to the center of the characters.
If the striking surface were left square, as is common with other manufacturers’ products, striking the edge of the square would cause the force to be transmitted to the edge of the characters.
This is why the characters may not appear crisp and clear.
[Instructions for Use]
Be sure to dampen the leather with water before stamping.
This ensures the stamping appears clear and crisp on the leather. (See image)
The results will be completely different depending on whether the leather is dampened or not.
When stamping, be sure to dampen at least the area you will be stamping.
